Tane Mahuta, Lord of the Forest
This Kauri is the largest existing Kauri. One five times as large (measured by volume, I think) was killed by a lightning strke several years ago. Tane Mahuta has a trunk that is 17.7 m high, a total height of 51.5 m, trunk girth of 13.8 m and a volume of 244 cubic meters. It is so big that taking a good photo of it is very difficult, as I have demonstrated here.
