These photos were taken at a concert at the Sarah P. Duke Gardens in Durham, NC on June 21, 2007. This was just before the Carolina Chocolate Drops appeared on Prairie Home Companion. After the Prairie home companion performance, the Chocolate Drops became a hot item as their schedule on their website shows. The Chocolate Drops were accompanied at this performance by Joe Thompson. He is a link to the past of African-American string musicians of the rural South and is a mentor of this band.
