These photos are from the second studio session that I had with Kristin Taylor.
Kristin is an alumna of the UNC School of the Arts. In 1998, she attended Jacobs Pillow for the “Visions of Jazz” Workshop. For two summers, Kristin worked at the South Carolina Governors School for the Arts and Humanities as a dance assistant under the instruction of Robert Lindgren and Sandra Neels. In 2002, she received a scholarship at the Lou Conte Dance Studios where she trained with Hubbard Street II. During her three year residency in New York City, Ms. Taylor worked with choreographers Nathan Trice, Bridget Moore, Christal Brown, Ayo Jackson and Sidra Bell. Also she apprenticed with Urban Bush Women. In January 2007, Ms. Taylor was invited to Venezuela to create work and perform with Yuxtadaanza Compania de Danza directed by Jorge Esteva and Jonathan Castro. In 2008, Kristin ended her third year with Tania Perez-Salas Compania de Danza based in Mexico City, Mexico. Also in 2008 she joined the UNCSA dance faculty, teaching for the preparatory program. Ms. Taylor has recently been a guest teacher for Tri-Cities Performing Arts School in Atlanta, GA. She is currently performing with nosi DANCE theater and Gaspard Louis and Dancers. Ms. Taylor resides in Durham, NC.
